The decision of the Election Commission has created an hustle in the politics of Maharashtra. Uddhav Thackeray has got a big blow from the decision. The Election Commission in its decision has named the Shinde faction as the Shiv Sena. After the decision, now Uddhav Thackeray has called an emergency meeting of the party on 18 February.

All MLAs, MPs and leaders will attend this meeting. The meeting will be held at Matoshree at 1 pm. In this, there will be brainstorming on the post-decision strategy. It is being told that the Uddhav group can approach the Supreme Court. Uddhav Thackeray has said on this issue that we will go to the Supreme Court as soon as possible against the decision of the Election Commission.

Significantly, the Election Commission has given the name of Shiv Sena to the Shinde faction in its decision. After the overthrow of the Thackeray government, two factions were formed in the party. The party split between supporters of Uddhav Thackeray and Eknath Shinde. Due to Shinde’s coup, the Mahavikas Aghadi government was formed in Maharashtra and Uddhav Thackeray was removed from the post of Chief Minister.

Following this development, Eknath Shinde was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Maharashtra. Also, Devendra Fadnavis was made the Deputy Chief Minister. Since then, there was a fight going on between the two factions over the authority over the Shiv Sena.
