Good news for central employees, old pension opportunity

The Modi government has given good news to the central employees. A select group of Central Government employees have been given an opportunity to opt for the old pension scheme. According to the new order, if you have got a government job before 22 December 2003, then you can choose the old pension scheme.

According to the order issued on Friday, the employees joining the services of the Central Government under the posts advertised or notified before December 22, 2003, the date of notification of the National Pension System, will be eligible under the Central Civil Services (Pension) Rules, 1972 (now 2021). eligible to join the old pension scheme under The concerned government employees can exercise this option till August 31, 2023.

The National Movement for Old Pension Scheme (NMOPS), an organization of over fourteen lakh central and state government employees, has welcomed the government’s decision.

Employees say that the New Pension Scheme is neither beneficial for the employees nor for the government in any way. The employees said that the government should keep its fourteen percent share given in NPS with itself. Only this can give pension to the employees. This money deducted in the NPS scheme is being invested in the stock market, which will not be of any benefit to the employees. In NPS, 10 percent money is deducted from the salary of the employees and fourteen percent is deposited by the government.
