Finance Minister Nirmala Sita Raman presented the 5th budget of the Modi government today. Congress President Mallkarjun Kharge has slammed the government regarding the budget. Kharge says that the budget of the Modi government is a proof of the continuous falling faith of the public in the BJP. This budget is made by keeping in mind the elections only, not keeping the country in mind. No effort has been made in this budget to find a solution to the dreaded unemployment.
There is inflation in every house, the difficulties of the common man are increasing even more. There is nothing in the budget that would reduce the prices of everyday items. The Modi government has looted the country by increasing the prices of flour, pulses, milk, cooking gas.
He further said achhe din, job bin. The unemployment rate which was 2.2% during Congress-UPA has now become 8%. Means about 6 crore youth are unemployed, 18 crore new jobs were to be given in 9 years, crores of jobs have been taken away by the Modi government.
30 lakh posts are vacant in government departments and ministries, but Modi ji is distributing only a few thousand job letters. There is nothing in this budget for the welfare of Dalits, tribals and backward classes. There is not a single step to protect their rights. MNREGA budget reduced by ₹38,468 Cr. So what will happen to the poor now? There is no boost in education and health budget, there is a reduction.
The anti-farmer, Narendra Modi government has given nothing in the budget for the farmers. It was promised to double the income of farmers in 2022, why didn’t it be fulfilled? Where is the MSP guarantee? The neglect of the farmers continues.
Inflation has spoiled the kitchen budget of every house, every person has a debt of more than ₹ 1 lakh. The gas cylinder which was available for ₹ 410 at the time of Congress, is now available for ₹ 1100. Flour has become costlier by 40% in a year. There has been an increase of ₹ 16 in the price of milk in 8 years. 5% or more GST tax has to be paid on everything needed.
The Modi government has ruined the banking sector. The fugitives have looted the country and fled. There are 3 lakh crores of Wilful Defaulters. There is NPA slippage of 36 lakh crores on banks. But no solution has been mentioned in the budget. Not a word on the risk being put into SBI and LIC.
Everyday 115 laborers are forced to commit suicide. Everyday 63 housewives commit suicide. Between 2015 and 2021, criminal cases against Dalits have increased by 13% and criminal cases against tribals have increased by 40%.
Overall, the Modi government has made life difficult for the people of the country. The country’s economy has been deeply hurt. Apart from looting the country’s wealth, the Modi government has done nothing. This budget will be called ‘Naam Bade Aur Darshan Chhote Budget’.
