In a heart-wrenching incident, a young girl tragically drowned in a river in Bhopal while filling water along with her friend. The victim, identified as Jyoti, was a resident of Manora village in the Vidisha district. She had accompanied her family to Bhopal for agricultural work.
According to the police, the incident took place on Thursday evening near the Halali river in the Eintkhedi Thana area. Jyoti, aged 13, had finished her work with her friend Sona and was crossing the Halali river to fetch water when she slipped and got carried away by the deep currents. Sona immediately raised an alarm, prompting nearby people to rush to their aid. A skilled swimmer named Deepak bravely jumped into the river to rescue Jyoti, but unfortunately, it was too late. Despite the efforts to save her, Jyoti had already lost her life.
