Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has taken a strict stance against the illegal drug trade. In a recent meeting with officials, he directed them to take stringent action against individuals involved in the drug business. As a result, properties of those engaged in the illicit liquor trade will be seized in Bhopal.
Under CM Chouhan’s leadership, a state-level meeting of the Narcotics Control Coordination Committee (NCORD) was held in Bhopal. The Chief Minister emphasized the gravity of the issue and provided strict instructions to officials regarding illegal drug trafficking.
CM Chouhan highlighted the dangerous nature of those involved in the drug trade and called for the toughest possible action against them, including the seizure of their properties. He also stressed the need for a campaign to protect the youth from drug addiction, advocating for activities in schools and colleges.

The meeting further discussed the implementation of mandatory sign boards in bars, pubs, restaurants, and similar establishments to raise awareness about the damages caused by substance abuse. Additionally, the regulation of darknet cryptocurrencies and the curbing of online trade in addictive substances were addressed. Present at the meeting were Home Minister Narottam Mishra, Chief Secretary Ikbal Singh Bains, DGP Sudhir Saxena, representatives of national agencies dealing with narcotics, and officials from the Department of Social Justice and Industry.
