Bhopal: The State Revenue Department has issued a notification to change the name of village Islam Nagar near capital Bhopal to Jagdishpur.
For this, the Central Government has also given NOC. It is noteworthy that Islamnagar was earlier known as Jagdishpur. Rajput king used to rule here, Dost Mohammad Khan treacherously killed the Raja of Jagdishpur and captured Jagdishpur .
The name of Jagdishpur was changed to Islamnagar. Dost Mohammad Khan had laid the foundation of Bhopal city. There is also the ancient Chaman Mahal and Rani Mahal, which is under the Department of Archeology.
