BJP National spokesperson Sambit Patra performed the Goddess Puja at Jhamu Jatra in Odisha’s Puri district on April 11.
During this, Sambit walked for about 10 meters on the burning coal on Tuesday . There is a tradition of walking on burning coals in ‘Jhamu Jatra’ in Puri. According to this tradition, Jhamu Jatra is a penance and devotees walk on fire to fulfill their wishes and please the Mother Goddess Dulan for peace.
Later Sambit Patra tweeted, “Shakti Puja is an important part of our eternal culture and tradition.”
