Actor Raveena Tandon, on Wednesday, was awarded the fourth highest civilian award, Padma Shri, by President Draupadi Murmu at a gilded ceremony at the Rashtrapati Bhavan. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah were in attendance during the presentation ceremony.

The award is a recognition of Raveena Tandon for her contribution to Indian cinema and philanthropy. Tandon has been actively involved in social issues like child rights, women empowerment and education. She is also the founder of the Raveena Tandon Foundation, which works towards providing education and healthcare to underprivileged children.
