Indian Cricketer Murali Vijay announces retirement from international cricket

Stylish opening batsman Murali Vijay has announced his retirement from international cricket. On the afternoon of January 30, Murali Vijay took to social media to announce his retirement. Murali Vijay announced this and thanked the fans.

India has to play Test series against Australia in February itself, before that a star player has retired. However, Murali Vijay is not yet a part of Team India’s playing XI.

38-year-old Murali Vijay wrote in his message that today I am announcing my retirement from international cricket, the journey from 2002 to 2008 was the best of my life because I contributed to India. I Am grateful for all the opportunities given by BCCI and Tamil Nadu Association.

Murali Vijay further wrote that I would also like to thank all my teammates, mentors, coaches, support staff, who have helped me a lot in my career. I would like to thank my fans who have always supported and supported me through the ups and downs of my career.

Murali Vijay also said that after retiring from international cricket, he is open to multiple roles in various leagues outside, which he will take up if given a responsibility.

Murali Vijay has played 61 Test matches for India, scoring 3982 runs. In which he scored 12 centuries and 15 half-centuries at an average of 38.28. Murali Vijay has also played 17 ODIs and 9 T20 matches for India.

Murali Vijay started playing for India in 2008, while he played his last Test match in 2018. Murali Vijay, 38, is counted among the stylish openers of Team India.

Vijay has scored 3982 runs in 61 Tests, including 12 tons and 15 half-centuries. He has also represented the Men in Blue in 17 ODIs and nine T20Is.

The right-hander enjoyed a fruitful Indian Premier League (IPL) career, scoring 2619 runs in 106 games, including a couple of centuries. He lifted the trophy with MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings (CSK) thrice – in 2010, 2011, and 2018.
