Rahul Gandhi has been held guilty by the Surat court for his statement ‘Why all thieves have the surname Modi.’ Rahul Gandhi was present in the court when the verdict was pronounced. Defamation case was going on against Rahul Gandhi for the last 4 years.
Earlier, on March 17, the court had reserved the verdict after hearing all the arguments in the matter. Rahul reached Surat from Delhi in the morning. 150 jawans have been deployed for his security. Security was tightened outside the court as well.
Here in Surat, Congress workers have decided that if a decision is taken against Rahul Gandhi, they will protest. If the verdict is in favor, crackers will be burst.
Let us tell that a crime was registered against Rahul Gandhi under section 499, 500 of IPC. In this case, he has appeared in the court for the third time today. The court of Chief Judicial Magistrate HH Verma had last week heard the arguments of both the sides and fixed March 23 as the date for pronouncement of the verdict. After the hearing today, the court has declared Rahul Gandhi guilty.
