In a thrilling IPL 2023 Final, MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings (CSK) emerged victorious, securing their fifth championship title, thereby equalling the record set by the Mumbai Indians (MI). CSK triumphed over the defending champions, Gujarat Titans (GT), with a five-wicket win at Ahmedabad’s Narendra Modi Stadium. The title was sealed by all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja with a six and a four off the final ball.
As the champions, CSK will receive a prize money of Rs 20 crore, while the runners-up, Gujarat Titans, will be awarded Rs 13 crore. MI, who finished third after losing Qualifier 2 to GT, will take home Rs 7 crore, and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), led by Krunal Pandya, will receive Rs 6.5 crore for finishing in fourth place after losing Qualifier 1.

Notable individual achievements include GT opener Shubman Gill, who became the youngest recipient of the IPL Orange Cap at the age of 25. Gill scored an impressive 890 runs in 17 matches, but fell for 39 in the IPL 2023 Final. He will be rewarded with Rs 15 lakh for winning the Orange Cap. GT pacer Mohammad Shami claimed the Purple Cap by taking 28 wickets in 17 matches, earning him Rs 15 lakh.
Rajasthan Royals’ opener Yashasvi Jaiswal, aged 21, was named the ‘Emerging Player of the Year’ for his remarkable performance, accumulating 625 runs in 14 matches, including his maiden IPL century. Jaiswal will be awarded Rs 20 lakh for his achievement.
