After enduring a two-year-long legal battle, actor Ajaz Khan has finally been granted bail in a drug case that led to his arrest in 2021. The former Bigg Boss 7 contestant, known for his stint on the reality show, was apprehended by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) at Mumbai airport in connection with drug-related allegations. Following his arrest, it was discovered that he was in possession of 31 tablets of Alprazolam, weighing a total of 4.5 grams.
Now, after an extensive period behind bars, Ajaz Khan is set to be released from Arthur Road jail on May 19, marking a significant turn of events in his legal saga.
Previously, in 2022, the Bombay High Court had denied Ajaz Khan’s plea for bail, citing evidence presented in the charge-sheet that pointed towards his alleged involvement in illicit drug trafficking and financial transactions associated with the purchase of narcotics. However, the latest development in his case has seen the actor being granted bail, allowing him to finally reunite with his family.
Ajaz’s wife, Andrea Asha Khan, expressed her joyous anticipation, stating that the family eagerly awaits his return home, having deeply missed him during his extended absence.
