Madhya Pradesh Official found with assets worth ₹7 crore, including a ₹30-lakh TV and luxury cars

In a case involving disproportionate assets, the Madhya Pradesh Lokayukta has conducted raids on the residence, farmhouse, and office of Hema Meena, an assistant engineer in-charge (contract) at the state police housing corporation. The raids resulted in the identification of assets worth approximately ₹7 crore, including a television worth ₹30 lakh and 20 cars, including luxury ones, parked at her bungalow. The investigation revealed that Meena managed to purchase 20,000 square feet of land in Bilkhiriya village and maintained a luxurious farmhouse with 70 to 80 cows during her 13 years of service.

Sub-engineer’s properties worth 332% more than income

Despite earning a monthly salary of only ₹30,000, Hema Meena had acquired properties worth 332 per cent more than her income. Meena reportedly uses a walkie-talkie to communicate with the staff at her residence, and a jammer has been installed there as well. Her house was constructed at a cost of ₹1 crore, registered under her father’s name, Ramswaroop Meena. A case has been filed against her under the Prevention of Corruption Act.
