AAP’s victory over BJP’s , Shelly Oberoi defeated Rekha Gupta and become the Mayor of Delhi

BJP candidate Rekha Gupta has faced defeat in the mayoral elections held today in the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD). So on the other hand, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) candidate Shelly Oberoi has been elected as the new mayor of Delhi. Shelly Oberoi has got 150 votes in this election. Shaili Oberoi, 39, was elected as a corporator for the first time in 2022. After AAP’s victory in the Delhi Municipal Corporation elections, there was a lot of suspense regarding the post of mayor.

Defeated BJP candidate Rekha Gupta-

Shaili Oberoi, a first-time councilor and mayor, has defeated BJP candidate Rekha Gupta in the MCD elections. In this election, Shaili Oberoi got 150 votes, while BJP candidate Rekha Gupta got 116 votes.

Who is Shelly Oberoi?

Shelly Oberoi reached MCD for the first time by winning the election of councilor from ward number 86. Shelly Oberoi is a very quick-tempered youth leader. Shelly Oberoi has studied till PhD. Shaili was an assistant professor in DU before joining politics. She is also a life member of the Indian Chamber of Commerce. He holds a Doctorate in Philosophy from the School of Management Studies, Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU).

AAP’s hold on Delhi MCD?

In the recently held MCD elections, Kejriwal’s party won 134 wards out of a total of 250, while the BJP won 104 and the Congress 9. The Municipal Corporation of Delhi was formed in April 1958 and its mayor had influential powers till 2012. In 2012, the corporation was divided into three separate municipal corporations.
