The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Advanced 2023 registration process was launched by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Guwahati, on Sunday.
Candidates who have passed JEE Mains and meet all other requirements may register for the exam at jeeadv.ac.in.
The application deadline is May 7. Beginning on May 29, the admit card will be available for download.On June 4, two shifts of the JEE (Advanced) 2023 Examination will be held.
Registration Fee
- SC, ST, PwD, Female Candidates (all categories): Rs 1,450
- All Other Candidates: Rs 2,900
The candidate must meet these requirements in order to be qualified to apply for JEE Advance.
Criteria 1: JEE Main 2023 performance
The applicants must rank among the top 2,50,000 recipients of the JEE (Main) 2023 B.E./B.Tech. paper (across all categories).The percentages of the different candidate categories that will be shortlisted are as follows: 10% for GEN-EWS, 27% for OBC-NCL, 15% for SC, 7.5% for ST, and the remaining 40.5% is OPEN for everyone. There is a 5% horizontal reservation available for PwD candidates within each of these five categories.
Criteria 2: Maximum age
Applicants must have been born on or after October 1, 1998. Candidates who are SC, ST, or PwD are given a five-year age reduction; therefore, they must have been born on or after October 1, 1993.
Criteria 3: The quantity of tries
A candidate may attempt JEE (Advanced) no more than twice in each of two succeeding years.
Criteria 4: Attendance at the Class 12th Exam
A candidate must have taken Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as required subjects when taking the Class XII (or equivalent) exam for the first time in 2022 or 2023.Regardless of the combination of subjects attempted or offered, candidates who had taken their Class XII (or equivalent) exam for the first time in 2021 or earlier are NOT eligible to take the JEE (Advanced) in 2023.It should be noted that appearing in the Class XII (or equivalent) examination simply means that the Board in question announced the results for that year, whether or not an exam was held. Even if the outcome of a particular candidate was kept secret, it would still be regarded as an appearance.However, candidates from that Board who took their Class XII (or equivalent) examination in 2021 are also eligible to take the JEE (Advanced) in 2023, provided they meet all other eligibility requirements, if the examination board for Class XII (or equivalent) declared the results for the academic year 2020–21 on or after October 25, 2021. The candidate will not be qualified to take the JEE (Advanced) in 2023 if the Class XII examination board (or equivalent) released the results for the academic year 2020–21 before October 25, 2021, but the result of a particular candidate was withheld.
Criteria 5: Prior IIT admission
Regardless of whether the applicant continued in the programme or accepted an IIT seat by reporting “online” or at a “reporting centre” in the past, the applicant should NOT have been admitted to an IIT. Candidates who joined an IIT after having their admission to an IIT revoked (for whatever reason) are also ineligible to take the JEE (Advanced) in 2023.Candidates who were first-time admitted to a preparatory course at any of the IITs in 2022 may sit for the JEE (Advanced) exam in 2023.
