Adipurush Box Office Day 7 Collection: Despite Altered Dialogues, Prabhas Film Witnesses a Drop to ₹5.5 Cr

In its seventh day at the box office, Om Raut’s Adipurush, featuring Prabhas, Kriti Sanon, and Saif Ali Khan, has experienced a decline in collections, earning approximately ₹5.5 crore in India. The mythological drama, which had a stellar opening weekend, has seen a slowdown on weekdays.

Despite making changes to certain dialogues following backlash, the film’s numbers continue to dwindle. Also read: Mahabharat actor Girija Shankar on Adipurush: ‘There’s no need to use this tapori language, they could have done better.’

Adipurush, based on the Hindu epic Ramayana, has faced criticism for modernizing its characters and dialogues. In response to the heavy backlash, the filmmakers have modified lines like ‘Kapda tera baap ka (the cloth belongs to your father),’ which has now been changed to ‘Kapda teri Lanka ka (the cloth belongs to your Lanka).’

However, the film’s daily collections indicate that these changes may have come too late to salvage the audience’s interest.

Adipurush Box Office Update

On the seventh day of its release, Adipurush collected ₹5.5 crore at the box office, bringing its first-week total to an estimated ₹260.55 crore in all languages within India. However, the film has crossed ₹400 crore in worldwide gross earnings.

T-Series tweeted on Thursday that Adipurush has amassed ₹410 crore in gross earnings within six days. Nonetheless, the continual decline in daily numbers suggests that the film’s performance has not met audience expectations, with negative word of mouth impacting its reception.

Nepal Lifts Ban on Adipurush

In recent developments, a Nepal court has lifted the ban on Hindi films, including Adipurush, instructing authorities not to hinder the screening of any movie approved by the country’s censor board.

The ban on Hindi films was imposed following objections to a dialogue in Adipurush referring to Sita as “India’s daughter,” announced by Kathmandu Mayor Balendra Shah. Sita, also known as Janaki, is believed to have been born in Janakpur, southeast Nepal.
