South Indian actress Amala Paul was not allowed to enter a Hindu temple in Kerala. After this, the actress has accused the temple administration of religious discrimination. He says that the authorities stopped him from entering the Thiruvairanikulam Mahadeva Temple in Ernakulam, Kerala because of “religious discrimination”.
Amala Paul had visited the temple on Monday but was reportedly stopped from visiting the temple after the temple authorities said that only Hindus are allowed to enter inside the temple. The actress later claimed that she was denied darshan, forcing her to visit the goddess from the road in front of the temple.
Amala Paul shared her experience in the temple’s visitor’s register, saying that she “felt the spirit without even seeing the goddess.” Amala Paul wrote, “It is sad and disappointing that religious discrimination still exists in 2023. I could not get close to the Goddess but felt the spirit from a distance. I hope religious discrimination ends soon.”The time will come and we all will be treated equally, not on the basis of religion.
On the other hand, the temple administration run by the Thiruvairanikulam Mahadeva Temple Trust has been under the scanner ever since the incident came to light. According to a report, the temple authorities said that they were only following the existing protocols. Prasoon Kumar, secretary of the trust, said, “Saints from many other religions have come to the temple for darshan, but no one is aware of it. But when a celebrity comes, there is controversy.”
