Arindam Malla, the son of a farmer, has secured the top position in the Higher Secondary examinations conducted by the Tripura Board of Secondary Education (TBSE). The results were declared on Monday, revealing Arindam’s remarkable achievement.

Overcoming obstacles and daily struggles, Arindam scored an impressive 493 out of 500 marks in the board examinations, specializing in the Humanities stream.

Despite having only one English private teacher in Class 12, he self-studied subjects like Political Science, Education, Psychology, and Sanskrit with the assistance of his school teachers. Arindam also received support from his mother and elder sister during his studies.

Expressing his aspirations, Arindam stated that he wishes to pursue higher studies in Psychology and plans to appear for the Common University Entrance Test (CUET).

Depending on his performance and the opportunity to secure admission in a reputed college outside Tripura, he will make a decision. Alternatively, he is considering colleges in Udaipur or Agartala within the state.

Despite dedicating only 3-4 hours to daily studies, Arindam maintains a diverse range of interests, including playing cricket, football, badminton, and chess. He also keeps himself updated by reading newspapers, particularly focusing on global news, sports, and politics. Arindam’s elder sister, who secured the fifth position in the higher secondary merit list in 2020, serves as an inspiration.

He hopes for further development in education, health, technology, and sports sectors in Tripura and advocates for increased access to Psychology and Education subjects in schools.
