In a tragic incident during the Ulta Rath Yatra in Tripura’s Unakoti district, seven individuals lost their lives, while 16 others sustained injuries due to electrocution. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has responded by announcing financial compensation for the affected families.
A sum of ₹2 lakh will be provided to the next of kin of each deceased, and ₹50,000 will be given to those who were seriously injured. This mishap has left the local community in grief, as Chief Minister Manik Saha expressed his disbelief, highlighting that such an unfortunate event had never occurred in the history of Tripura.
The administration is actively offering support to the affected individuals, and efforts are underway to ensure their speedy recovery.
