Google office in Pune threatened to blow up in Mumbai, ATS on alert

On Monday 13 February, the Google office in Mumbai received a threat call, in which the caller said that he had planted a bomb at the Google office in Pune. Google officials immediately informed the police and the Mumbai Police along with the Pune Police started investigating the matter.

As per the information, the person making the threat introduced himself as Panayam Shivanand. He also said over the phone that he lives in Hyderabad. Let the caller call a landline number. The police have given all the information related to this matter to the Pune police, so that they can also investigate.

According to the information received from the sources, the police have not yet received any suspicious item from the office. Meanwhile, the caller has been arrested by the police in Hyderabad. A team of Mumbai Police is also in Telangana and preparations have been made to bring the caller to Mumbai. It is not yet clear what was the motive of the person behind making the call. Police have registered a case against the caller under sections 505(1)(b) and 506(2) of IPC and are investigating.

According to media reports, earlier a threatening email was received in the Mumbai office of NIA. In which it was claimed that someone associated with the Taliban would attack in Mumbai. Since then the Mumbai Police and the Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) have been on alert.
