Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose was remembered across the country on the occasion of his 126th birth anniversary. Prime Minister Narendra Modi named 21 big islands of Andaman and Nicobar on this occasion. These islands were named after Param Vir Chakra winners.
PM Modi participated in the program organized on this occasion through video conferencing. PM Modi said that these 21 islands will now be known as Param Vir Chakra winners. The generations to come will remember this day as an important chapter of the nectar of freedom.
The PM further said that this land of Andaman is the land in whose sky the free tricolor was hoisted for the first time. After independence, an attempt was made to forget Netaji. This monument is an inspiration for generations to come.
