In Parliament, PM Modi was seen wearing a special blue jacket on Wednesday. This jacket is made from recycled plastic bottles. The jacket was presented to him by the Indian Oil Corporation during the India Energy Week in Bengaluru.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who has been at the forefront of making the fight against climate change a mass movement, has been in new jacket made of plastic bottles. This step of PM Modi is being seen as a message of stability. Notably, the PM earlier gave the mantra of ‘use less, reuse and recycle’ for sustainable development, to tackle the menace of climate change.
Union minister Jyotiraditya Scindia shared a picture of the PM and tweeted, “PM ji reaches Parliament wearing a jacket made of plastic bottles, epitomising the mantra and importance of recycling.” This was gifted to him during #IndiaEnergyWeek. The jacket symbolizes India’s dedication towards the goal of #NetZero by 2070.
It is being said that at the launch of ‘Mission Life’, a global initiative by India to help the world in the fight against climate change, PM Modi encouraged people to live a sustainable life. PM Modi said Mission Life will strengthen the concept of a pro-people planet and reflects a “lifestyle of the planet, for the planet and by the planet”.
Over 10 crore PET bottles will be recycled to produce eco-friendly clothing for India Oil personnel and the armed forces. Speaking about the same, PM Modi had said that the initiative to recycle plastic bottles into uniforms will strengthen Mission Life.
