2 Women Dead, 8 Rescued as Massive Fire Breaks out At Ghaziabad’s Loni Border

In a devastating incident, a major fire broke out in a house located in Ghaziabad’s Lal Bagh colony, resulting in the unfortunate deaths of two women. The fire, which occurred early Monday morning, has been brought under control as reported by initial media sources.

Despite the brave efforts of local residents seen in videos shared on social media, who attempted to extinguish the massive blaze using buckets and pipes, the two women tragically succumbed to suffocation. Eight other individuals were successfully rescued and taken to a hospital for treatment.

The fire, suspected to have been caused by a short circuit, occurred in a building that housed a shop and the residence of tent shop owner Satish.

Sadly, Satish’s mother Barto Devi, aged 70, and his sister Mamata lost their lives in the fire. Firefighters swiftly responded to the emergency, deploying three fire engines to the scene. The basement of the house, where tent production took place, is believed to be the origin of the fire.

Chief Fire Officer Rahul Pal stated that the injured individuals were taken to a hospital, where the two women unfortunately passed away during treatment. The fire was eventually extinguished after hours of struggle.

The three-story building’s ground floor was the site of the fire, while eight people were trapped in the upper part of the building. Firefighters successfully rescued them by breaking a wall and utilizing an external stairway.

In videos surfaced on social media, several locals can be seen trying to douse the massive fire, which broke out around 5:30am.

While some reports suggest a short circuit as the cause, a thorough investigation is underway to determine the exact reason behind this tragic incident.
