Chardham Yatra is going to start from 22nd April. At the same time, the date of opening of Baba Kedar’s doors has also been fixed. The portals of Lord Kedarnath Dham will be opened on coming 25th April at 6.20 pm according to auspicious time for common devotees to visit.
Today, the festival of Mahashivaratri is being celebrated with great pomp and there is an influx of Shiva devotees in Shivalayo since morning. On the other hand, the temple and the Panchkedar Gaddisthal located in Ukhimath have been decorated with eight quintals of flowers this time on the occasion of Mahashivratri. According to mythological traditions on the occasion of Mahashivaratri, the date of opening of the portals of Kedarnath Dham has been announced from Panchkedar Gaddisthal Omkareshwar Temple. The program was started as per tradition by offering prayers at Omkareshwar Temple Ukhimath from 9 am.
It goes on to say that to fix the date of opening of the doors of Kedarnath temple today, the almanac count of the acharyas of the temple committee had started at Panchkedar Gaddisthal from 9 am itself. After Panchang calculations, it was decided that the doors of Kedarnath Temple will be opened for common devotees on April 25 at 6.20 pm as per auspicious time. Before this, Bhairavnath Puja will be done on 20 April.
On April 21, Lord Kedar’s moving idol doli will leave from Omkareshwar temple and reach Guptkashi for night rest. Fata on 22nd, will rest in Gaurikund on 23rd April. On April 24, the doli will leave for Kedarnath Dham from Gaurikund. The doors of Kedarnath Dham will be opened on April 25 at 6:20 in Aries ascendant.
