The NRIs who came to participate in the Pravasi Bhartiya Sammelan organized by the Government of India in Indore were not allowed to enter the auditorium in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s program today. In this way these NRIs started feeling humiliated. Condemning the entire incident, Congress MLA Sanjay Shukla demanded Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan to apologize to the NRIs.
MLA Shukla said that the Pravasi Bhartiya Convention was organized with the slogan” Atithi Devo Bhava,” treating the guests as deities. In this event, on the very first day, the Indian citizens who came from these other countries lost their sweat in registering. He had already registered with his country. The registration fee was paid. After that there was complete haphazard arrangement at the venue. Due to which it became difficult for these overseas Indian citizens to get the admit card of registration.
Shukla said that the process of insulting these NRI citizens continues even today. Today, on the occasion of Pravasi Bharatiya Divas, Prime Minister Narendra Modi came to formally inaugurate this convention. When NRIs started arriving from 8:00 am to enter the auditorium where the formal inauguration program was to be held, they were told that the auditorium was full. There is no place for you in it anymore , These NRIs were later told to sit in the second hall and listen to the Prime Minister’s speech on TV. Hurt by such disrespectful behavior, the NRIs said in clear words that if we had to listen to the speech on TV, we would have listened to it sitting at home in our country. Why did we come here after walking? These NRIs considered the treatment meted out to them by the authorities to be humiliating.
MLA Shukla said that this kind of behavior with the guests is definitely very shameful. The government itself was engaged in this event with full force, but the bus arrangements for the event are speaking headlong. This situation has arisen due to filling the hall by giving entry to BJP leaders contrary to all rules and regulations.
