The 17th Pravası Bhartiya Divas convention will be held from 8-10January 2023 in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, the Prime Minister’s office said in a statement. The theme of the event is “Diaspora : Reliable Partners for India’s Progress in Amrit Kaal”. The event also showcases Madhya Pradesh’s strong and growing pharmaceutical sector through dedicated session on the sector. The session shall be addressed by Honourable Minister of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Shri. Dr. Prabhuram Chowdhary and, the Secretary for Health, GoMP and Commissioner, Food Safety & Controller, Dr. Sudam Khade. The session shall exhibit the strength of the current pharma eco-system through discussions with the senior executives from Sun Pharma, Hind Pharma, Rusoma Laboratories Pvt. Ltd, Ipca Laboratories Ltd `amongst others.
The session will also have stakeholders including M.P. Small Scale Mfg. Association and the healthcare services industry represented by Mr. Ankit Thakker, Chairman, Sadguru Hospital and Dr. B. K. Jain, Director & Trustee, Sadguru Hospital, it is expected that that the sessions shall highlight the opportunities for investment in the State for the pharma, medical devices, and healthcare industry. Further, the session shall share the success stories and the entrepreneurial experience of the industry veterans in Madhya Pradesh .The session is of high interest to the potential investors, start-ups and other concerned stakeholders in the sector keen on setting their units and understand the facilitation and support provided by Government of Madhya Pradesh in their anticipated progress.
Award of Pravası Bhartiya Samman; O 10th January 20223, President Draupadi Murmu will confer the award. The Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Award is the highest honour conferred on a Non-Resident Indian, Person of Indian Origin; or an organisation or institution established and run by them. The award is to commemorate the contribution of Indian diaspora to create a better understanding of India abroad, support India’s causes and work for the welfare of the local Indian community. Selected eminent Indian diaspora members are awarded the Pravasi Bharatiya Samman Awards in the presence of Hon’ble Rashtrapati Ji.
According to the Pravasi Bhartiya Diwas, the Convention will have five thematic Plenary sessions ;
First Plenary on ‘Role of Diaspora Youth in Innovations and new Technologies’, chaired by Minister of Youth Affairs & Sports, Shri Anurag Singh Thakur.
Second Plenary on ‘Role of Indian Diaspora in promoting Indian Healthcare Eco-system in Amrit Kaal: Vision @2047’, chaired by Minister of Health & Family Welfare, Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya and co-chaired by Minister of State for External Affairs, Dr. Rajkumar Ranjan Singh.
Third Plenary on ‘Leveraging the soft power of India – Goodwill through craft, cuisine & creativity’, chaired by Minister of State for External Affairs, Smt. Meenakashi Lekhi.
Fourth Plenary on ‘Enabling global mobility of Indian workforce – Role of Indian Diaspora’, chaired by Minister of Education, Skill Development & Entrepreneurship, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan.
Fifth Plenary on ‘Harnessing the potential of diaspora entrepreneurs towards an inclusive approach to nation building’, chaired by Minister of Finance, Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman.
