Karnataka: Mini Bus-Car Collision Claims 2 Lives, Leaves 2 Injured

In a tragic incident in Udupi district, Karnataka, two individuals lost their lives in a collision between a car and a mini bus near Jakkanamakki.

The victims have been identified as Subbanna Ganiga, a first-grade assistant at the Deputy Director of Public Instruction (DDPI) office, and Soma Shekhar, a physical education teacher at Indira Nagar School in Udupi.

The accident occurred when the car, carrying the victims who were returning from a wedding function in Channagiri, collided with a private bus heading from Udupi to Agumbe.

Local residents promptly rushed all four occupants of the car to the hospital. Sadly, Subbanna Ganiga and Soma Shekhar succumbed to their injuries en route to the hospital, while the two others, including the car driver, were transferred to Manipal hospital for further treatment.

The condition of the remaining two injured individuals, Sudarashan (a teacher) and Sathish (the driver), is reported to be critical. Authorities are investigating the incident to determine the cause of the collision.
