Sameer Wankhede, an IRS officer, and his wife, Kranti Redkar, have reported receiving threats in connection with the ongoing Aryan Khan drugs case investigation. Wankhede, who was granted protection from arrest until Monday by the Bombay High Court, expressed his concerns and stated his intention to write to the Mumbai Police Commissioner, demanding special security measures. As the former Mumbai zonal chief of the Narcotics Control Bureau, Wankhede has been involved in several high-profile Bollywood cases, including the drug angle of Sushant Singh Rajput’s death and the recent drugs-on-cruise case involving Aryan Khan.
CBI Alleges Bribery and Irregularities:
In addition to the threats, Sameer Wankhede is facing serious allegations. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has filed an FIR against him, accusing him of seeking a bribe of ₹25 crore from Shah Rukh Khan and promising not to press charges against Aryan Khan. The CBI claims that a portion of the bribe, amounting to ₹50 lakh, was received through KP Gosavi, who was involved in the viral selfie incident with Aryan Khan. The CBI further alleges irregularities, including financial discrepancies and undisclosed property. Wankhede has dismissed these allegations, attributing his wealth and property to his ancestral heritage.

Controversy Surrounding Chats with Shah Rukh Khan:
During the proceedings, Sameer Wankhede presented a transcript of his purported chat with Shah Rukh Khan, Aryan Khan’s father. While Shah Rukh Khan requested Wankhede to be considerate toward his son, there was no mention of the alleged bribe, and Khan even commended Wankhede’s integrity as a government officer. However, NCB officials have criticized this interaction, deeming it a violation of investigative rules for an officer to engage with the family member of an accused. The authenticity of the chats has also come under scrutiny, with reports suggesting that Shah Rukh Khan does not use WhatsApp.
