The Madhya Pradesh state government is set to bear a significant financial burden of Rs 1,250 crore per month for the implementation of the Ladli Behna Yojna. Under this scheme, aimed at empowering women, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan reviewed its progress and accepted 1.25 crore application forms.

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan personally reviewed the scheme’s progress and will distribute the acceptance letters himself starting June 1 until June 9. On June 10, he will visit Jabalpur and transfer Rs 1,000 directly into the accounts of the eligible women.

While the government initially expected one crore women to apply for the scheme, they have received an additional 25 lakh applications, leading to an additional expenditure of Rs 250 crore per month.
The state government plans to organize events across Madhya Pradesh to launch the Ladli Behna Yojna, incurring extra expenses. These events will witness the participation of ministers, Members of Parliament, and legislators.
From June 1 to 7, beneficiaries will be provided with letters of acceptance for the scheme. The events will include presentations of bhajans (devotional songs) and Ladli Behna Geet (songs celebrating sisterhood), as well as street plays to raise awareness about the scheme.
