Terrorist Groups Plotting Drone Attacks Apprehended in MP: ATS arrested 10 suspects from Bhopal

Terrorists planning drone attacks in Madhya Pradesh were apprehended in a joint operation by NIA and local authorities. The suspects, affiliated with Hizb-ut-Tahrir, aimed to enforce Sharia law and establish a caliphate. 11 individuals were arrested, with 10 from Bhopal and 1 from Chhindwara. Objectionable literature and electronic devices were seized during the operation.

In a separate incident, the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) arrested 10 individuals associated with ISIS from Bhopal and Chhindwara. The arrested terrorists were involved in sleeper cells and engaged in anti-national activities. They utilized communication apps on the dark web, such as Rocket Chat and Threema, to evade authorities.

The arrested individuals, aged between 25 and 40, included a gym trainer, coaching teacher, software engineer, computer technician, teacher, businessman, auto driver, tailor, and laborers. They conducted combat training camps in the jungles, organized secret religious gatherings, and targeted vulnerable youth with aggressive tendencies.

Hizb-ut-Tahrir, a terrorist organization with roots in Bangladesh, poses a significant threat. It has been involved in anti-government activities in Bangladesh since its establishment in 1952. The group’s presence in Madhya Pradesh highlights the need for continued vigilance against extremist ideologies and their potential to incite violence.
