Monsoon Update: IMD Raises Yellow Alert for 18 Districts of Odisha from July 3-7

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, has issued a yellow warning for 18 districts of Odisha from July 3 to 7. According to the IMD forecast, there is a high likelihood of light to moderate rain or thundershowers in some areas of these districts.

Thunderstorms with lightning are expected in specific districts such as Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, and others. Heavy rainfall is also anticipated in certain districts during this period.

On July 4, from 8:30 am to 8:30 am on July 5, the IMD predicts thunderstorms with lightning in districts like Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Bargarh, Sambalpur, Deogarh, Angul, Dhenkanal, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, and others.

Heavy rainfall is expected in districts including Nuapada, Nawarangapur, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Ganjam, Gajapati, Malkangiri, Koraput, and Rayagada.

From July 5 to 6, there is a forecast of heavy rainfall in districts such as Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Boudh, Bolangir, Nuapada, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Nawarangapur, Rayagada, Malkangiri, Koraput, and Cuttack.

From July 6 to 7, IMD predicts heavy rainfall in districts like Koraput, Rayagada, Nawarangapur, Kalahandi, Nuapada, and Bolangir.

IMD Predicts Rainfall and Thunderstorms in Tamil Nadu

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted light to moderate rainfall in several districts of Tamil Nadu over the next four days. A gyre zonal circulation over the Southwest Bay of Bengal and the variation in speed of the westerly wind are contributing factors to the expected weather conditions. The forecast mentions specific areas where rainfall is likely, including Nilgiris, Coimbatore, Tirupur, Dindigul, and Chennai, among others. Heavy to very heavy rainfall is anticipated in some districts as well. People in these regions are advised to stay updated and take necessary precautions.

The Delhi-National Capital Region (NCR) is expected to experience light rainfall in the coming days, followed by light to moderate rains. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted these weather conditions for the next few days.
