Modi Cabinet Decision : Plan to form 2 lakh cooperative societies, Vibrant Village Program also approved

The Modi cabinet has taken a big decision on Wednesday (February 15). After the cabinet meeting, Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur told that the government will strengthen cooperatives. To fulfill various objectives, there is a target to form 2 lakh primary agriculture cooperative society-dairy-fishery cooperative society within five years.

Allocation of Rs 4800 crore for Vibrant Village Program-

He further said that the Modi government has approved the Vibrant Village Program to further strengthen the borders. Under this, the infrastructure of the villages located on the northern borders of the country will be developed. Rs 4800 crore has been allocated for this.

The entire cost will be borne by the central government-

Anurag Thakur said that road and other infrastructure will be strengthened in 2966 villages in 19 districts of Ladakh, Jammu-Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh. This will be different from the Border Area Development Programme. The Union Minister told that the Central Government will bear the entire cost of this.

Shinku La tunnel also got green signal-

Modi cabinet has also approved the construction of Shinku La tunnel. It will provide all-weather road connectivity to Ladakh. Its length will be 4.8 km. A total of 1600 crores will be spent. The project will also enhance ground movement of military forces. Anurag Thakur said that seven new battalions will be formed to monitor the China border of ITBP. Along with this, an operational base will also be created. In which 9,400 soldiers will be deployed.
