UN Headquarters Lawns Being Prepared for Yoga Day The UN headquarters’ North Lawn is being transformed for the grand ceremony of Yoga Day.
This year marks the first time that the main event is being hosted abroad. While Yoga Day is celebrated worldwide, the main ceremony has traditionally taken place in India, with PM Modi leading the celebrations in different cities.
Yoga Day Celebrations Amidst Covid-19 Pandemic In 2020 and 2021, mass gatherings for Yoga Day were canceled due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Instead, people practiced yoga asanas indoors to maintain safety.However, this year’s celebrations at the UN headquarters signify a return to the grandeur of the event.
Timings for Yoga Day 2023 at UN Headquarters According to India’s Permanent Mission to the UN, the Yoga Day celebrations at the UN headquarters’ lawns will take place from 8 am to 9 am EST (5:30 pm to 6:30 pm IST).
The event promises to bring together yoga enthusiasts from around the world for a moment of harmony and wellness.
