Baba Vishwanath’s aarti has become expensive in Varanasi’s Kashi Vishwanath temple. From March 1, devotees will have to pay Rs 500 instead of Rs 350 for Mangala Aarti. On the other hand, the tickets for Saptarishi Aarti, Shringar Bhog Aarti and Madhyama Bhog Aarti have been increased by Rs 120. Instead of 180, one has to pay 300 rupees for this aarti. The new rate will be effective from March 1.
This decision was taken in the 104th board meeting of Srikashi Vishwanath Temple Trust held on Wednesday. Earlier in 2018 i.e. 5 years ago, the Mangala Aarti ticket was increased by Rs 100. Then the ticket was 250 rupees. The board of the trust said that in view of the increasing number of devotees in the temple, ticket prices are being increased.
CEO Sunil Kumar Verma told that only the rates of Aarti have been increased. Apart from this, there is no increase in Rudrabhishek and Prasad. Significantly, after the construction of the corridor of the temple, the number of devotees has increased almost eight times to eight crores. At the same time, the annual prasad of 8 to 10 crores received by the temple has now increased 10 times to 105 crores.
250 seats for Mangala Aarti, booking 15-20 days in advance
People associated with the temple management told that there are 250 postures in Mangala Aarti. They have online booking. These seats were filled 15-20 days in advance. Not many people came. Booking will decrease due to increase in price. It is expected that devotees will get Mangala Aarti tickets 5-7 days in advance.
