Ricky Ponting revealed : Rishabh Pant will be the part of Delhi Capital’s IPL even in absence in the team
Delhi Capitals head coach Ricky Ponting said that it would be difficult for the team to enter the IPL without their captain and star cricketer Rishabh Pant. Pant was injured in a serious car accident in December last year, after which he has been away from cricket.
Ponting launched the new jersey of Delhi Capitals in Delhi. He said during the event, ‘I would make Rishabh Pant sit in the dugout in every match. But if that is not possible, we will make him a part of the team in every possible way . We can put his number on our shirts and caps. We just want to make it clear that even though he is not with us, he is our captain.
In the absence of Rishabh Pant, who will handle the responsibility of wicketkeeper in Delhi Capitals?
To this Ricky Ponting replied, ‘We have not taken any decision on this. Sarfaraz Khan has joined us and will take a call after watching the practice match. Rishabh Pant has left a big gap here. With the introduction of the Impact Player rule, we can see the playing lineup change in a number of ways.
David Warner will be the captain
Please tell that in IPL 2023, David Warner will take over the captaincy of Delhi Capitals in place of Rishabh Pant. Akshar Patel has been made the vice-captain. Warner was the highest run-scorer for Delhi Capitals in the IPL last year. He scored 432 runs at an average of 48 and a strike rate of 150.52, including five half-centuries.
