In an impressive box office journey, “The Kerala Story” directed by Sudipto Sen has garnered tremendous success, accumulating a remarkable earnings of over ₹147 crore. The film, featuring Adah Sharma in a prominent role, witnessed a significant surge on its 11th day, raking in ₹10.30 crore domestically. With its continued strong performance, “The Kerala Story” is now on the cusp of entering the highly coveted ₹150 crore club, captivating audiences with its engaging narrative.

Centered around the sensitive theme of religious conversion, “The Kerala Story” has attracted attention and controversy since the release of its trailer. The film boasts a talented ensemble cast including Yogita Bihani, Siddhi Idnani, and Sonia Balani. It hit theaters in India on May 5 and expanded its reach to 37 other countries on May 12, garnering international recognition.

Renowned film trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to highlight the film’s success, emphasizing its remarkable collection of ₹10.03 crore on the second Monday, surpassing the earnings from the previous week. With a robust second week, “The Kerala Story” is poised to cross the monumental ₹150 crore mark on its second Tuesday, with a cumulative collection of ₹147.04 crore.

Adah Sharma, in a recent interview, clarified that the film’s objective is not to target any specific religion but to shed light on the exploitation of Islam for terrorist activities. Despite facing bans in West Bengal and certain multiplexes in Tamil Nadu, the film has been granted tax-free status in states such as Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh.
