Tragedy struck Tamil Nadu as 13 people lost their lives and many others were hospitalized after consuming spurious liquor in two separate incidents on Sunday. Nine individuals died in Marakkanam of Villupuram district, while four lost their lives in Maduranthakam in Chengalpattu district. The authorities have suspended four police officials for failing to carry out their duties. In response to the incident, the police have registered 57 cases and arrested nine individuals for producing and supplying spurious liquor and gutka.
