Ujjain Mahakaleshwar : Changes in Darshan system at Mahakal Temple from 3rd to 10 April , know why

The  Mahakaleshwar temple will remain closed for 8 days from April 3 to April 10. The sanctum sanctorum of the Mahakal temple will be kept closed in view of the Shivpuran Katha being organized by Pandit Pradeep Mishra in Ujjain. This decision was taken by Collector Kumar Purushottam in a meeting with the officials.

The Collector said that in view of the Katha event, arrangements should be made for darshan in the Mahakal temple as per the arrangements made during Mahashivaratri.

Parking will be arranged as before. Shoe-slipper stand, lighting system, parking, arrangement for drinking water and installation of CCTV cameras should also be done like Mahashivaratri.

 Ujjain Collector’s instructions

Arrangements should be made to install CCTV cameras at Narsingh Ghat. Devotees will be monitored through CCTV cameras from the control room. With the increase in the number of devotees, holdups should be prepared at Shankaracharya Square. Five teams of health department will be stationed in Mahakal Lok, Mahakal temple complex.
