Patna : Preparation for caste census has started in Bihar. Caste census is going to happen soon in Bihar. It has been decided to conduct the enumeration in two phases. For this, the first phase will start from January 7, 2023 which is to be done by January 21. After this, the counting work of the second phase will run from April 1 to April 30. Caste-based enumeration of entire Bihar will be completed in both the phases. It is targeted to be completed by May 2023.
Caste Census ; Politics has been going on in Bihar for a long time regarding caste census. A new information has come regarding this. The date has been announced for this.
In the meeting of the State Council of Ministers, on June 2, 2022, the state government had decided to conduct caste-based census from its own resources. After which the government had changed after 2 months. Now the government has released the date for starting the counting work. The entire responsibility for conducting caste-based census from the state government level has been given to the General Administration Department. At the district level, the district officer has been designated as the nodal officer. Its entire charge has been given to the District Magistrate of all the districts. For carrying out the enumeration work, the employees of the General Administration Department and District Officers, subordinate offices of various departments at the village level, panchayat level and higher level will serve for this work and complete the caste-based enumeration work.
Caste based counting of all the people of Bihar will be done. At the time of enumeration, such residents of Bihar who temporarily live outside the state or country due to any reason and do not stay at their home will also be counted. To conduct the enumeration, the District Statistics Officer has been made Additional Principal Enumeration Officer. The Sub-Divisional Officer has been made the Sub-Divisional Counting Officer. Municipal commissioner or executive officer has been made city charge officer. Block Development Officer has been made Block Charge Officer. Circle Officer has been made Assistant Block Charge Officer. At the same time, there will be a high level personnel for the supervisor, who will go to the panchayat and ward and do the calculations, they have been named as enumerators. For that, teachers, agriculture coordinators, MNREGA workers, employment servants, Vikas Mitra etc. will do the calculation work.
