During this, PM Modi said that today the world’s largest river water journey ‘Ganga Vilas’ cruise between Kashi to Dibrugarh has been launched. Due to this, many tourist places of Eastern India are going to come more prominently in the world tourism map.

He said that it is a matter of pleasure for all of us to witness the great festival of celebrating river waterways. Ganga ji is not just a water stream for us but has been the witness of penance and austerity of this great land of India since ancient times. Whatever may have been the conditions of India, Maa Ganga has always nurtured crores of Indians.

PM Modi said that the inauguration of Ganga Vilas will open new avenues for eastern India to emerge more brightly on the world map of tourism. This new phase of cruise tourism will give new employment-self-employment opportunities to our young colleagues in this field. This will be an attraction for foreign tourists, the tourists of the country who used to go abroad earlier for such experiences, will also now be able to turn to East-North East India.

He further added that this cruise will help everyone get a true feel of everything from cherishing spirituality, enjoying tourism and understanding the system of rivers in India. This cruise will pass through 25 different rivers and is also a great opportunity for those who want to experience the rich cuisine of India. That is, we will get to see a wonderful confluence of India’s heritage and modernity in this journey.

PM Modi said, this decade of 21st century is the decade of infrastructure rejuvenation in India. In this decade, the people of India are going to see a picture of modern infrastructure, which was difficult to imagine. This cruise will pass through 25 different river systems, which will give a feeling of happiness. It will also let the tourists experience the valuable and famous cuisine of India.

He said that India in its modern avatar is igniting the strength of its heritage for a highly developed transport system. In 2014, there were only 5 national waterways in India, today work is on to develop 111 national waterways in 24 states. Services are running on about two dozen of these waterways.

PM Modi told that the National Waterway being built on the Ganga is developing like a model for the whole country. This national waterway is becoming an important medium for transport, trade and tourism.
