The minimum temperature reached 2-5 degree Celsius in isolated parts of North Madhya Pradesh, Haryana and East Uttar Pradesh, People have heaved a sigh of relief due to decrease in cold in North India including Delhi-NCR. The Meteorological Department has predicted a decrease in cold in the coming days. The minimum temperature in Delhi on Thursday was 5.6 degrees. At the same time, a Western Disturbance is likely to reach the Himalayas during the night of January 20, causing light rain over Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi between January 20-22.

According to the Meteorological Department, people will get relief from the cold for the next 5 days.
Forecast of rain
Another Western Disturbance is moving slowly. It is expected to reach the Himalayan region between January 23 and 25. Due to this, there is a possibility of heavy rain and snowfall in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand between January 23-26. Scattered hailstorm is also likely over Western Himalayas on January 23 and 24.
Rain in the plains as well
Due to the activation of Western Disturbance, there is a possibility of rain in the plains. Light rain is expected in some areas of Punjab on January 22 and light to moderate rain on January 23. There is a possibility of rain on 24 and 25 January as well. On January 22, it may rain in Delhi, Chandigarh and Haryana. Some areas of western Uttar Pradesh will receive rain on January 23 while most areas will receive rain on January 24. East Uttar Pradesh may receive rain on January 24 and 25.
