Revoting will take place on Monday in all booths where voting in the rural elections has been ruled invalid, according to the West Bengal State Election Commission.
An official claimed that the SEC passed the order after reviewing claims of vote-rigging and violence that disrupted voting in multiple locations during a meeting on Sunday evening.
In Birbhum district, there will be a repoll of about 14 booths. Notably, there won’t be a repoll in the violently disturbed Bhangar neighbourhood of South 24 Parganas district. In the largely peaceful electoral districts of Darjeeling, Kalimpong, and Jhargram, there will be no repoll.
