Congress leader Sonia Gandhi pleaded for peace in Manipur , checkout video message
According to politician Sonia Gandhi, Manipur’s history is proof of the state’s capacity to welcome people of all ethnies, religions, and backgrounds, as well as the numerous opportunities presented by a diverse society.
“It takes tremendous trust and goodwill to nurture the spirit of brotherhood, and a single misstep to fan the flames of hate and divisiveness,” she observed.
She said , “I sincerely hope that over the coming weeks and months, we will begin the difficult process of restoring trust and come out stronger from this ordeal,” she said. In her 2.5-minute video message, Sonia Gandhi declared, “I have a great deal of hope and faith in the people of Manipur and I know that together we will overcome this ordeal.
“Our nation’s conscience has been deeply wounded by the unprecedented violence that has destroyed the lives of people in Manipur. The fact that people are being forced to leave the only place they can call home makes me incredibly sad.

“I make a plea for harmony and peace. The kind of future that our children will inherit will depend on our decision to start down the path of healing. I have a great deal of hope and faith in the people of Manipur, and I know that, working together, we can get through this difficult time.
The Bharatiya Janata Party has been accused by the Congress of engaging in “divisive politics” in Manipur, and the state and federal governments have allegedly failed to uphold law and order there.
