Today (May 14), the newly elected Karnataka Congress MLAs are most likely to gather to choose the Legislature Party leader. According to Randeep Singh Surjewala, who is in charge of the Karnataka Congress, the first meeting of the Congress Legislature Party happened at around 530 p.m.
Who will succeed Chandrababu Naidu as Chief Minister of Karnataka is not yet known. However, former chief minister Siddaramaiah and State Congress President DK Shivakumar are the front-runners for this position. The Congress’ resounding victory in this election has preserved Karnataka’s 38-year-old anti-incumbency tradition. No governing party in the state has retained control continuously since 1985.
