Rahul Gandhi, the leader of the Congress, poked fun at Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday over the Centre’s initial political outreach on the clashes in Manipur, questioning PM Modi’s “silence” on the matter. He continued by saying that the meeting was scheduled when the prime minister was “not in the country” because it was “not important” to him. PM Modi is in the United States on an official state visit through June 24.

 Rahul Gandhi wrote on Twitter

The Prime Minister remained silent despite Manipur’s 50-day firestorm. When the Prime Minister is not present in the nation, an all-party meeting is called nonetheless! Clearly, the Prime Minister does not value this meeting.
