Congress leader Anil K Antony, who sided with the government on the BBC documentary controversy, has left the party. Anil is the son of former Defense Minister AK Antony. Anil supported the decision to ban the documentary made by keeping PM Narendra Modi at the center.

Anil Antony, son of Congress leader AK Antony, on Wednesday announced his resignation from the Congress. He has taken this decision only a day after opposing the documentary made by BBC on PM Modi and the 2002 Gujarat riots. Taking to Twitter, Anil said, “I have resigned from all my posts in the Congress. I was being pressured by intolerance to take back a tweet. That too from those who stand up for freedom of expression.” Let’s do it. I refused.
