Twitter experiences a global outage, and thousands of users encounter the “cannot retrieve tweets” error

On Saturday, Twitter experienced a global outage, and thousands of users complained that the social media site was not refreshing their tweets. The ‘cannot retrieve tweets’ error has been reported time and time again by Twitter users. This is the Elon Musk-led platform’s third such outage this year.

According to the website Down Detector, which keeps track of service outages, about 4,000 users have reported problems with Twitter’s functionality. The business has not yet made a statement regarding the outages.

Twitter has experienced a global outage three times this year. In March 2023, the social media site encountered system issues that caused many links to abruptly stop working. Similar issues affected many Twitter users worldwide in February of this year, including the inability to tweet, follow, and send direct messages.

Since it recently became necessary to create an account in order to view tweets, Twitter is undergoing some changes. Elon Musk described the action as a “temporary emergency measure”.
Unregistered users who try to access content on Twitter will be prompted to either sign up for a new account or verify their identity using an existing account before they can view their preferred tweets. Users could still access tweets that were either shown in Google search results or embedded within other websites as of Friday, it should be noted.
