Aam Aadmi Party: Satyendar Jain Put on Oxygen Support, Being Taken to LNJP Hospital Following Bathroom Accident
Former Delhi minister and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Satyendar Jain has been hospitalized and put on oxygen support after falling in the bathroom of Tihar Jail. He is being shifted to Lok Nayak Hospital (LNJP) for further treatment. Jain had complained of back pain earlier and was taken to Safdarjung Hospital.
Doctors at Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital conducted scans and referred him to Lok Nayak Hospital due to persistent pain in his back, shoulder, and knee. The AAP stated that Jain’s condition is a result of a fall last year, requiring immediate spinal surgery. He is also reported to suffer from sleep apnea and has lost significant weight over the past year.
Jain’s fall in the jail bathroom has led to deteriorating health and the need for spinal surgery. His condition includes acute lumbar pain, vertigo, chronic lower back pain, and decreased mobility. An MRI revealed degeneration in all intervertebral discs, prompting doctors to advise urgent spinal surgery.
However, Jain is currently placed on a waiting list by jail authorities and may have to wait for five months. In addition to his spinal injury, he also suffers from sleep apnea and has experienced significant weight loss. Jain had sought bail in a money laundering case and is presently in judicial custody.
