Cyclone Biparjoy Update: Severe Destruction as Cyclone Biparjoy Hits Gujarat, 23 People Injured and 24 Animals Died Says NDRF

In the aftermath of Cyclone Biparjoy’s landfall in Gujarat’s coastal areas, the destructive storm has left a trail of damage.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) reports that the cyclone’s intensity has decreased from a very severe cyclonic storm to a severe cyclonic storm upon hitting land.

IMD Director Mrutyunjay Mohapatra stated that the cyclone moved northeastwards, crossing the Saurashtra-Kutch region near the Jakhau port, Gujarat. With wind speeds ranging from 105 to 115 kmph, heavy rainfall is anticipated in Rajasthan on June 16.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi took stock of the situation by speaking with Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, discussing the impact of Cyclone Biparjoy on the state.

CM Patel revealed that two human lives were lost prior to the cyclone’s landfall and provided details to the Prime Minister regarding security arrangements for wildlife, including the lions of Gir Forest.

As per the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), 23 individuals have been injured and 24 animals have tragically perished due to the cyclone.

The NDRF continues to actively respond to the aftermath of Cyclone Biparjoy, providing relief and aid to those affected by the calamitous event.
