An exercise has been started to reduce the use of animals in the transportation of goods in the army, under which the latest technology will now be used in the army for transportation of goods. For this work, the army will now use robotic mules instead of camels, horses and mules.

For that, the Army has started the process of procuring 100 robotic mules. Earlier, the process of procurement of logistic drones was done. The army’s animal unit, known as the Remount Veterinary Corps, will be reduced in size in the future.Animals have been used for the transportation of goods in the army for 244 years. This work is done through the Remount Veterinary Corps, which was established in 1779. The Remount Veterinary Corps played an important role during World War I and also in the wars against China and Pakistan.

So far, 5000 mules and more than 1500 horses have been rewarded on Army Day for their excellent services. Of course, the easy availability and low cost of technology these days would reduce the use of these animals in the military. The army currently has thousands of horses, mules, camels and yaks.

The Army had recently invited tenders for the purchase of 100 robotic mules. Such robotic devices are being used in the army of many countries of the world. According to sources, in the initial phase, the army wants to test 100 robotic mules on different borders. After this their number will increase. The army has also started procuring drones to transport goods.

According to the military, the four-legged robotic mule should be able to reach any destination through pre-programming. Measuring a maximum of one meter long, one meter wide and one meter high, the robot mule should be able to lift at least 10 kg and fly up to an altitude of 3000 metres.

Animals cannot climb stairs whereas this robot mule can climb stairs too. It is 20 degree Celsius. Must be able to work in temperatures ranging from freezing to 45°C.
